Royal International Air Tattoo, Fairford (previously shown on wife’s blog!)

The weather failed to dampen spirits at the 2012 Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire at the beginning of July. Over 130,000 visitors were treated to an eight hour flying display on each day as well as nearly two miles of static displays featuring aircraft from across the world. The new Airbus A400M was officially named “Atlas” and the Korean air display team, The Black Eagles made their debut appearance in the UK. The Vulcan Bomber XH558 made it’s debut display appearance since engine failure earlier this year and the RAF Tornado GR4 Role Demo display team made an emotional flypast in remembrance of colleagues lost during a training exercise the week before.
